In the air, on a trip to purchase glass for his home Alston Edwards asked the question why must he go all the way to Trinidad to get what he wanted? The answer resounded in his mind ‘because it wasn’t available in Tobago’. The recognition of this need germinated the idea of opening such a business on the island and immediately Alston began researching the possibility of doing so.

On March 6 th 1985 the idea gave birth to a partnership between Butcher Glass Supplies and Alston opening its doors at Mt Grace Flats, Tobago. Starting with a workforce of three it didn’t take very long before the partnership evolved into a family business registered under the memorandum of Association Act as Tobago Glass Supplies Limited under the dynamic leadership and direction of Alston Edwards.

Outgrowing its facilities at Mt. Grace the business was relocated in 1996 to its present location at Rousseau Trace Spring Garden, Tobago. Today this small limited liability company has expanded to a staff population of fifteen meeting the need to provide a cost- effective supply of wholesale and retail glass and aluminium products that seek to avail the construction industry in Tobago and also the domestic market at large.
